In a significant move towards sustainable logistics, Construct IT, in partnership with wienerberger, the world’s leading brick manufacturer, are proud to unveil the new joint livery for their dedicated vehicle.

Nicknamed 'The Thunderbird', the HVO powered truck is planned directly by the wienerberger team at their Cheadle office for rapid responses up and down the country. Adorned with this new co-branded livery, the design is not just cosmetic - it symbolises the broader commitment to the ongoing partnership and to the future of sustainable logistics as the first vehicle in the fleet to be powered solely by HVO fuel.

HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), a renewable diesel alternative made from sustainable feedstocks, is celebrated for its potential to drastically reduce Co2 emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional diesel. ‘The Thunderbird’s’ adoption of this new fuel type marks a significant milestone for both companies, setting a new benchmark in the construction logistics industry.

Amarat Gill, Operations Director at Construct IT says:

“‘The Thunderbird’ represents a bold step forward in our mission to provide sustainable, reliable, and innovative haulage solutions. Partnering with wienerberger on this initiative is a perfect example of how industry leaders can work together to make a real difference. This isn’t just about a new livery; it’s about a new way of thinking.”

wienerberger’s commitment to sustainability is encompassed in their 'Let's Build Beyond' sustainability strategy, with the company continually striving to push the boundaries of what’s possible in brick manufacturing.

Michael Clews, Logistics Operations Manager at wienerberger says:

“At wienerberger, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Partnering with Construct IT on this project allows us to further our commitment to reducing our environmental impact while maintaining the high standards our customers expect. This HVO-powered truck is a clear indication of our dedication to innovation and sustainability.”

Both Construct IT and wienerberger see this as the phase one in a broader transition towards more sustainable fleet operations, and the successful integration of HVO is expected to pave the way for the introduction of additional HVO-powered vehicles in the near future.

Phase two of the project has already commenced, with an additional fuel-type and an exciting first for the construction industry, stay tuned!
